Identity
- Residence
- The Fishing Village, Crescent Bay
- Civilization
- Islanders of Shimmering Isles
Appearance
• Physical: Gangly and awkward, still growing into his frame. His skin is nut-brown from constant sun, his black hair perpetually windblown. His hands are already rough from work. • Clothing: Wears patched and faded clothing handed down from his father—canvas trousers, a worn shirt, a vest with pockets for tools. Everything smells of fish. • Distinguishing Marks: A healing burn on his forearm from a cooking accident; permanently sunburned nose; calloused fingers
Relationships
- Family - Close to his mother and youngest sister; distant from his practical father who dismisses his dreams
- Allies - Old fishermen who tell him stories, his best friend Mika who shares his dreams, a traveling poet who once gave him a book
- Rivals - His older brothers who tease him; village boys who mock his poetry
Daily Life
Tiko's days begin before dawn, helping his father and brothers prepare the nets and boat. Mornings are spent fishing, afternoons mending nets and cleaning the catch, evenings helping his mother prepare dinner. He writes his poetry late at night, by candlelight, hiding the pages beneath his mattress.
